== Obituary == [Jackson, MS] Clarion-Ledger, Friday, December 12, 1997 Bernice Elizabeth Boon Black, 63, of Meadow Oaks Park Drive, a Jackson Stone Co. comptroller, died of cancer Wednesday at River Oaks Hospital. Services are noon today at Wright & Ferguson Parkway Chapel in Ridgeland with entombment in Parkway Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. today. Mrs. Black served as secretary for several yearsof Riverside Independent Methodist Church. Her son, Bruce Tinsley Black of Madison said she "was a loving and loyal wife" who visited her husband, J.T."Blondy" Black, daily at the nursing home. Her son said his mother enjoyed life to the fullest. "She loved travel, the theather and was an avid supporter of Mississippi State," her son wrote in his mother's tribute. Her longtime friend, Virginia Walker, said "Mrs. Black was a wonderful and thoughtful friend and will be missed by many. Other survivors include: stepsons, Ronald DeWitt Black of Madison and Darrell Thomas Black of Jackson; stepdaughter, Janice Black Law of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Riverside Independent Methodist Church.
