- Ca. 1951, moved in with grandparents Harry Nathan Law and Bessie Gwillim Law in Forestville, CT.
- All my earliest vivid memories are of playing with children on Kenney St.: Tracy Reed, Jimmy and Sheila Herens, Jackie Porch, the Zurrells, etc.
- Attended first grade at Greene-Hills School. Was placed in third grade for arithmetic and fourth grade for reading.
- Spent most of a year in Spain and France with Reed on sabbatical, 1955-56
