Career
(Gwillim-Moore genealogy says:) Gideon Lowell was a shipowner and sea captain. He often sailed with his wife Miriam, and probably some of his children were born at sea. In 1690 he was a soldier in the first expedition to Canada. About 1719 he sold his land in Newbury and moved to Amesbury. Supposedly he built Lowell St. through his land, and on that street, one house for each of seven sons.
