Career
- Worked as a reservations agent for Delta Air Lines in Atlanta during World War II
- Home visitor for Neshoba County Welfare Department
- In the 1950's, photographer in New Orleans
- Starting in 1962, in Philadelphia, MS, took over a cattle farm from her grandfather, Dr. Mars
- Owned and operated the Neshoba County Stockyards
Accomplishments
- Author of "Witness in Philadelphia" (the movie "Mississippi Burning" was based on this book)
Health
- Suffered from Bell's palsy and diabetes
- Died of congestive heart failure
